Champion Adultz offers a planned program of daily activities designed to promote well-being though social and health related services. Champion Adultz operates Monday through Friday 7:00am-5:30pm. We offer a safe, supportive, and cheerful environment. Nutritious meals that accommodate special diets are included, along with an afternoon snack.
The intention of Champion Adultz is primarily two-fold:
To provide adults an opportunity to get out of their residence and receive both mental and social stimulation.
To give caregivers a much-needed break in which to attend to personal needs, to continue to work at a job or simply rest and relax and have peace of mind knowing their loved one is in good hands. It is vital for a caregiver to get some time off and take care of themselves to stay well and be able to continue the job as caregiver.
For the participant, the benefits are:
a safe, secure environment in which to spend the day
enjoyable and educational activities
improvement in mental and physical health
enhanced or maintained level of independence
socialization and peer support which aids in reducing social isolation and loneliness
nutritious meals and snacks
For the caregiver:
A happy loved one is a loved one that is easier to care for and manage
Support and education to care for a loved one and cope with the changes
Peace of mind knowing a loved one is safe and supported during the day.
Good candidates for adult day health are adults who:
Can benefit from the friendship and functional assistance an adult day center offers,
Have been socially isolated, have shared they are lonely or are spending a lot of time alone.
May be physically or cognitively challenged
Although there is no one type of individual who attends an adult day program, scientific studies show the benefits of exercise, socialization and a sense of community are key to keep our minds and bodies active and engaged. Some participants need some physical assistance, with walking or using the restroom, some need cognitive assistance, with reminders due to short term memory deficits, and some folks don’t need any assistance but benefit from the socialization offered at the program. We welcome you to see what we can do to help you or a loved one remain healthy, active, and in the community.
When is it time to join the Family of Champions?
It's usually challenging to admit you need help, especially if you've been a highly independent person used to caring for others all your life! And if you're the caregiver, it may be equally difficult to consider allowing "strangers" to care for your beloved family member.
As with any service, the best time to start exploring what's available is before you need it. You should seriously consider using adult day care when a loved one:
can no longer structure his or her own daily activities
is isolated and speak openly about the need for companionship
can't be safely left alone at home
lives with someone who works outside the home or who is frequently away from home for other reasons
We encourage you to visit Champion Adultz in advance of bringing their loved one. Meet the staff, check out the space and provide insight into your loved one’s interests and abilities. The program will take this information and use it to welcome, encourage, and empower your loved one to make the adjustment to the program all the smoother. I am a firm believer that things are contagious. If you like a program, your loved one will like it too. We start with a short visit and build on this success. Please give us a call 317.756.9171, and let us start on this path together.
Costs and Waiver Services for Champion Adultz
Our facility accepts clients on the BDDS waiver and A&D Waiver
If you have current approved waiver services you will be informed of your approved waiver hours for the amount of care you are able to receive and paid for by your waiver.
We do accept clients that choose to pay on a daily basis that do not receive waiver services. This can be discussed in further detail upon assessment and tentative enrollment. The rate is dependent on the level of care needed whether Basic which is standard care or Complex which would indicate a higher level of medical care. Transportation, Geriatric Massage and Salon Services are an additional expense.
